You can just press in the same spot repeatedly. It's hard to work miracles with this game because if you do random speeds to fix this issue it just becomes annoying and frustrating. I really don't have any tips to be honest sry. If you come up with ways to make this better I'll totally give this another chance and try to pick up from there but right now I really don't see something worthwhile. Good little attempt and I'll be waiting
