It's a good game but why are the pixels so blurry?

Probably because the Mario image resolutions are very small and you see Mario made out of large pixels, Alex would have got these images and they would be tiny and making them larger blurs them. Need to find something that enlarges image sizes without blurring the pixels.

It's actually better if the objects were small, or the screen needs to zoom out....

Try PixelArt. You can import the original (clearer) images into the app and export them as a larger sized image. Or you can use the app to make new sprites.
