I think this is a bit too early to be shared to the hub. You have the very basics, but the main gameplay is missing. Where are the puzzles, the goal. What's the point of the game? I know your description says it's not finished, and you're mainly trying to see if people like it. But there really isn't enough to like, or even enough to dislike.

A game should generally have a goal, or a purpose that's clear to the user. In your first level nothing really made me feel like I should go to the right (end of level), there was no puzzle.. The level design was lacking, and the platforms felt randomly placed. There wasn't even enough room to explore the characters jumping abilities. You should look into the Passable platform behaviour. It will let your character jump through the bottom of the platform.

Also, your second level with the mining cart. There is some potential here. But again, no clear goal. Also when you fall off the rail it sort of breaks everything. No way to restart, I had to quit the game.. Once I quit, there was very little reason to play again.

I recently posted a blog post that may help. Check this out 10 Simple tips to making a fun game

I agree with most things on that list except "Random elements are not fun". Randomness stops the game from being predictable and adds replay value, as long as it's done right. Randomised levels can be cool, as long as they are always possible, same for randomised AI, etc.

November 26, 2015

Randomness has a place, but it has to be done properly. For example, flappy birds makes the level random, but it's not random to the point where it is impossible. It has to be random, but still predictable.

November 26, 2015

Not necessarily predictable, for example a randomly generated dungeon (what I'm working on now) has to be random enough that it isn't predictable, but it needs to remain possible (always a path to the exit).

November 26, 2015

By predictable, I don't mean in the sense where the user knows the solution. More that the user knows he can win. So your example is perfect, creating a dungeon that is randomly generated, but still making sure there is a path to the exit is the perfect predictability. The user should know he can escape.

I thought you meant predictable as in the user knows all the possible resulting outcomes, which is not the case in my game.

How do I remove games from the hub?

March 11, 2016

I don't think you can, but I think admins can but then you get a strike and if you get 3 your banned temporarily (I think, I'm not sure if that's exactly right).

March 12, 2016

as Jack said, you can't. Only the admins can, and you may receive a strike. This is because we want you to actually think about what you're sharing and not to share too early.

Ok thank you for letting me know
