Runner is a colorful game set to amaze. Includes checkpoints, colors, challenges, and more. Inside of it all, this is a simple platformer/side scroller. There's also a sort of story to it, but you may interpret it however you want.

Added a mini map editor
Changed start screen
The map editor should be easy to use. Drag blocks to the "Trash" button to delete them. There are only two blocks in the map editor so far. Let me know if you'd like me to add the rest.

I'm not really thrilled about the map editor. You should add more and make a button that goes back to menu. It's no good relaunching the game. You should add WAY more to it, sort of like Geometry Dash did.

It's what I'm planning on doing. The next big project. This could be described as a sort of sample editor.
January 13, 2016
Oh, good luck then.
February 15, 2016
You're working on it right? Slowly but surly... Lol :)
June 02, 2016
I feel so bad for not replying to you! The answer is no, but yes. I actually recreated Runner and am making the editor there, so yes, slowly but surly.
June 02, 2016
Oh lol, I think I've replied to everybody. Good luck then! I still think this game is awesome!

I got to the end. It's so frustrating and addicting it's crazy. You should definitely publish it to the App Store, but you should break it apart into levels, and add a menu screen. Also, at the end it says "project terminated." You should make it so that you can start from different checkpoints or levels from like a menu screen, and an end endless spacing game, too. You can make invisible objects move at a certain velocity and spawn objects on top of them, and make a probability of certain blocks using a random number and ifs behaviors. You probably already already know this, but I'm just telling you because I experimented with an endless running game :) Overall, this is the best game on the hub, and I really don't know why I'm giving you so much advice.

Thanks so much!
A menu screen is coming. :) I plan on breaking everything up into levels in a unique way. As for the endless runner, I need to report some bugs to Hyperpad admins to fix some problems before I make it. I'm so glad you like the game, and made it to the very end! Thanks for the advice as well! :)

You're welcome. It's probably a bit too much, and a bit overwhelming but if you do all of this then this is really going to be like one of those addicting, perfectionate apps on the App Store. Also, it's quite a good idea and I was going to make something like this. You took away the idea, so I'm making sure this awesome. Jk but it's quite a great idea.

If you have bugs to report, use the Personal Support form located in the LEARN tab of hyperPad. We're finished with 1.12 (the next update), but if they are bugs that are not fixed yet they will have to be part of 1.13. You can also see the known bugs, fixed bugs and new features we're working on here on our roadmap: https://trello.com/b/EmwcGN1T/road-map-and-known-bugs

The two red blocks with one between is to hard that's even my farthest I got
December 04, 2015
Try moving the player back instead of restarting the level every time they die. It's annoying having to wait for the level to load when I touch the red blocks. Other than that it looks cool.
December 04, 2015
This tells me you might have only gotten little into the game. Once you get to the first checkpoint, the respawn is much faster. This is just to show you how you died before you respawn, you can see where you touched the blocks. This only happens in the beggining to help you and once you reach the checkpoint, it stops.
December 02, 2015
Let me know if you made it to the end, and how much of a challenge it was to do so.

Can you teach me how to make a platformer
December 01, 2015
I'm writing a tutorial on creating a platformer game. It's still in progress, but the first 5 parts are up and covers making your level, your player, and coins to pick up. It's located in the User Manual, which is accessible from the LEARN tab in hyperPad. Here is a direct link the the guide: https://hyperpad.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/201314305-Complete-Guide-Creating-a-Platform-Game

You may also Branch this game to see how things are done. Branch is a fancy way of saying Copy and Edit.

Oh thanks
November 30, 2015
Nice! Love the new update! Just needs some sound I think. Other than that, well done! Great game!
November 30, 2015
Thanks, sound is coming!
November 28, 2015
One time I fell but didn't die. I had to quit and reopen the game but then it restarted so I just quit
November 28, 2015
Where did you fall? It'll be fixed right away.
November 28, 2015
Somewhere around X 212.25
November 28, 2015
Simple, but mesmerizing!
November 28, 2015
Cool, that's what I was going for. How far did you make it?
November 29, 2015
Well.. I didn't go very far.. I've died between two red blocks. You should improve char jump, 'cause it's 360° rotation disturbs.. At least for me.
November 30, 2015
It seems like a common problem. I'm thinking of ways to improve it.
November 28, 2015
Also, a tutorial shouldn't be required. It's very obvious, plus a few hints when new blocks are introduced.
November 28, 2015
Could very well be App Store worthy. Edit out white outlines for graphics, add music/sound and more content and boom. Also, I got up to check point 2 and the 2nd purple block didn't launch me in the air, so I haven't played all of it.
November 28, 2015
Working on the white outlines. And sorry about the purple blocks. To launch yourself into the air you have to move to the block next to it and walk on it, not jump on it. I'm not sure why.
November 28, 2015
The purple blocks should work now. The white outlines are also gone.
November 27, 2015
Lots of potential and very addictive. I think that the major problem with this game is that it doesn't do any favours for beginners. There's no tutorial and it jumps into hard difficulty from the word GO! Everything is great; the graphics, controls etc. you just need to slow the game down a bit. Guide the player through the first level, or part, of the game, showing them what to be aware of and so on. You should also change the joystick to one of your own graphics and remove the white outline around the jump button. Overall, good job, needs a few updates, but that's to be expected with a game that's just been submitted.
Good luck!
November 27, 2015
Thanks, I'm working on the graphics and making them perfect (no white outlines.) The game is supposed to be hard. It's a skill game and it only gets harder. In the future I'll introduce new things a bit slower.
November 28, 2015
Good to hear. Yes, you don't have to make the game less difficult, just don't throw the player into the deep end as soon as it starts. Introduce the tutorial within the first checkpoint, then throw them in the deep end.
November 27, 2015
I'm interested in hearing how far you got. Was it challenging?
November 27, 2015
I like how you didn't put a tutorial, no "Press the blue button to jump here!" and "Use the joystick to move!". You made the player learn without teaching, which I think is cool. (Whether or not this was on purpose, I don't know.) But, I found the game to be a little hard on the first level.
I like the simple aesthetic, but I noticed most of the objects don't have transparent backgrounds. I personally use Background Eraser Free(pro is 0.99), but you can search around for other ones.
Anyway, I hope you keep updating this and adding new stuff. Good luck!
November 27, 2015
Thanks, I will continue to update this. Rate the game? (like/dislike)
November 27, 2015
Sorry, I completely didn't respond to your full comment. Things like the checkpoints and text boxes aren't completely transparent. I hoped it wouldn't change anything. I'll try the Background Eraser.
November 27, 2015
Pretty cool game, but the wall jumps were a bit glitchy. I would recommend making an invisible square that doesn't rotate with solid collisions, and a passable square that rotates, so the wall jumps don't glitch because the block is rotating.
November 27, 2015
Good idea, but if you jumped and extended your legs to reach another platform, your legs could impact the wrong way and make you fall. Think of the block spinning as it was extending it's legs. I'm not going to pretend they aren't there. Unless the game was actually glitchy, which it wasn't on mine. It's just when you jump and the side of the block hits a platform and it falls back. Makes the game more challenging if anything.
November 27, 2015
It just felt weird to jump off the walls because while the square was rotating the wall jumps sometimes didn't work, sometimes did.
